Using Track Changes in Word 2003 and earlier

To activate ‘Track Changes’, click on ‘Tools’ and then ‘Track changes’.

With the ‘Track Changes’ toolbar in place, you have various options for accepting changes individually or as a whole.

By going into ‘Show’ on the toolbar, you can choose how amendments are shown (struck through or balloons to the side of the text) and some other facilities.

For example, if you prefer to display the original text (text that has changed) struck through, you can do so.

When you are happy with the changes made, you can ‘Accept All’ and the superseded text will disappear.

Another way of removing both the balloons and the struck through text is to go to the spin box and choose ‘Final’.

This displays and prints your document with all changes incorporated (and no balloons or struck through text).
