Track Changes in Word 2007 and later

To activate ‘Track Changes’, click on  the ‘Review’ tab and then click on the ‘Track  Changes’ icon.

With the ‘Review’ toolbar in place, you have various options for accepting or rejecting changes individually or as a whole.

By going into ‘Original Showing Markup’ and 'Show Markup'on the toolbar, you can choose how amendments are shown (struck through or balloons to the side of  the text) and some other facilities.

For example, if you prefer to display the original text (text that has changed) struck through, you can do so.

When you are happy with the changes made, you can click on the ‘Accept’ icon to accept changes individually or in total.

When this is done, the superseded text will disappear.

Another way to remove both the balloons and the struck through text is to go to the 'Final Showing Markup' spin box and choose ‘Final’.

This displays and prints your document with all changes incorporated (and no balloons or struck through text).
